Latest theme: 12 Days of Christmas

I've got limited use of my fingers, but I'm taking things slowly. My latest theme is the 12 days of Christmas - what with us being in the middle of Christmastide - and I'm kind of anxious for the next theme, which will be a bit more fun and let me use a bit more color. (The 12 Days of Christmas...the first seven are mostly birds, and not very colorful ones at that! Meh.)

Thus far I've posted:

I'm putting together the usual year-end stuff - products I've tried and liked or not liked during the year - but also prepping for the one-year anniversary of the site. (The main site, not this one.)

This little piggy

I did my weekend looks, I had a mini-series of looks planned for the next two weeks...and then I broke two fingers on my right hand. I'm all taped up. Which means any makeup looks I do for the next two weeks are going to be simpler.

Gah...

Things could be worse. I won't have a whole lot of keyboarding to do over the next two weeks because of the holidays and so many corporate shutdowns. Plenty of time to heal...or at least get a good headstart.

Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer

With all the holiday-season stuff in full swing, and people rushing about doing their last-minute gift buying...it's high time to be a bit silly. I've posted today's EOTD over on the main blog.

And now, off for lunch. Prosaic, but if I wait much longer I'll start feeling dizzy and then the REALLY weird posting will happen.

Roundup of the past few days

A couple of posts, to make up for the relative silence (and for two days in a row now without an EOTD. I know, I know...I've got to get with the program.)

Listing and quick review of Meow Cosmetics' Glacial Grove collection - eleven icy-pale and monochromatic frosts. I initially wasn't thrilled with these photos, but I have seven of the colors in fullsize and actually like them quite a bit. Even the browns are not your standard run-of-the-mill neutrals, thanks to the metallics and iridescence. Pictures coming next week.

A fast loose-powder MMU buying guide - which vendor to choose - if you prefer the bold-vivid makeup similar to fashion mags, you're going to be happier buying from different vendors than if you're a soft-focus-lens-look kind of gal. But if you haven't ever bought from these vendors, how do you know where to start?

Listing and quick review of Meow Cosmetics' 12 Pains of XMas collection - twelve brighter shades, some metallics, all with gleefully whimsical names. I currently have five of these colors and have samples for the rest on the way, so will be posting swatch pics in about a week.

Additionally, next week I'm going to close comments on this post, so if you care to contribute to the list of color associations and qualities, please go add a comment soon!

Send waffles - stat!

I have no energy today. (I think the godsawful early meeting had something to do with that - messed up my body's clock good and proper.) I have to add my newest colors to the gallery, add writeups for the colors I've used in the past week (or add my thoughts to the existing writeups), amend a review, go follow various blogs using this user ID, AND THEN of course there's all the other stuff I have to do that's completely and totally unrelated to the site. (Oh yes, and communicate with an MMU vendor that has a problem getting orders out in anything vaguely approaching a timely fashion, about me placing an order and physically going to their other place of business to pick up said order because otherwise it will never be filled.)

Days like today were made for cinnamon waffles and cocoa, a pile of movies and a fireplace, and snuggle-happy cats. I have cocoa, I have DVDs, and I have a fireplace (gas fireplace - no cleanup, yay.) But I have no energy to go out and get cinnamon waffles.

Somebody send me cinnamon waffles?

Lots of stuff going on over at the main homestead...I'm well into the second month of my one year eyecolor challenge, and while I've made a good dent in my collection, I'm kind of looking forward to a stretch of days when I can just do two-color looks. The themeage was fun - LOTS of fun!! - and I'm already working on the next theme, which will take me almost completely through a month.
